One of the earliest signs that men and women are maturing are that their eyebrows, cheeks, and jaw droop with gravity. The face seems to thin out, and cheek structure is lost. Patients are perceived as tired, angry or depressed even though they are active and happy.
These changes begin in the late 30´s. Collagen or Restylane injections, fat transfers, microdermabrasions or peelings, do not fully correct these changes by themselves. Surgery is often too dramatic at this age and produces a stretched or unnatural look, and comply all the risks involved in the procedure and general anaesthesia.
Surgical Thread lift is an outdated technology that used barbed thread that was surgically inserted into the skin and anchored. The minute barbs held on to the sagging skin. It required hospitalization and postoperative care.
But these days there are non-surgical procedures available. The latest thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure and that is the reason it is gaining popularity. It has very little downtime risk and one can go back to social life immediately and in six hours can even wash their face. This Thread Lift is a procedure which rejuvenates, regenerates and improves the structure of the face, in a similar way to a surgical facelift, but without the need for surgery.
- Thread Lift FAQ’s
What is the procedure?
It uses multiple, hair-thin needles that have fine threads dipped in bio stem cell liquid, inside them. These needles are inserted into a layer of the skin one-by-one and then pulled out together smoothly, leaving the fine thread inside the layers of your skin. This induces fibroblast and promotes collagen production and literally lifts skin. The thread is gradually absorbed into the skin.
The soluble PDO (polydioxanone) thread is inserted into the skin through a very fine needle. A lifted appearance can be seen immediately following the treatment, however, the results will improve in the following days and weeks as the PDO stimulates neocollagenesis, which in turn produces collagen. The overall texture of the skin is improved; it becomes thicker, tighter and firmer and fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed away.
Short strands of threads can be used to treat fine lines around the eyes, while thicker strands can be injected into the muscles of the forehead as an alternative to Botulinum Toxin (Botox). Longer threads can correct and lift the neck and jawline.
The threads are naturally absorbed by the body in six to eight months, however, the effect of the treatment can last for up to two years.
Who can get this?
Age is not a criteria here, say experts. Since it is a simple lunch-time procedure and when done by experts, has no side effects, even young men and women can opt for it. Young mothers with loose post-delivery tummy also come for this treatment

It is recommended to avoid forceful facial rubbing, exaggerated and excessive movements of the face and neck, and it is recommended to sleep on your back. After 2 to 3 weeks, there are no more restrictions since the lift has set in place with your own tissues.
How long do results last?
Most people will have acceptable results for 3 to 5 years with no adjuvant treatments. The PDO threads will give the skin an immediate, natural improvement in appearance. After about 10-14 days, the process of natural body protein synthesis begins and continues over a period of two years, keeping the texture of the skin smooth and supple.
